Biography

Melinda Tognini creative work has been published in anthologies in Australia and the US. Developed from her Master of Arts thesis, her first book, Many Hearts, One Voice: the story of the War Widows’ Guild in Western Australia was published by Fremantle Press in 2015. Her teaching draws on twenty-five years of industry experience and a heart for mentoring other writers and family historians. Outside the classroom, she works part-time for Writing WA, which advocates for and resources the writing community, and is actively involved in other community-based family history and writing organisations. Melinda is currently a PhD candidate at Curtin University, exploring the form and structure of life writing that explores complex social issues.
